It’s been awhile since I’ve shown my face around here, but if you have been following along here for awhile, then you know I took some time off to take a month long vacation in Italy and France that was pure heaven. The Mr. had his sabbatical from work, and since we knew it was coming we were able to plan ahead and take some time off. It was nerve-racking for me to leave work for such a long period of time, but somehow I managed to get it to all align with client projects starting, ending, etc. To be honest, while it was always thought of as the Mr.’s work break; for whatever reason, it didn’t really hit me that it was my break as well until I was gone — that I too was actually taking a break — a long one, a much-needed one. Having started my design company, Julia Goodwin Design, back in 2008 and having been lucky enough to take vacations here and there I didn’t realize how grateful I would be for a long extended break until I was there, soaking up the history and beautiful sights of Italy and France.
Entering the blogging world was intimidating, both due to the learning curve and the need to balance the time and energy it demands and deserves with an already demanding work schedule that is anything but 9-5. However, once I started I never looked back, and I truly love it. Words cannot express my gratitude for all the wonderful things that have come along with it. During my trip, I left this space blank while I was gone; my mind and heart were racing with ideas to bring here – exactly what I needed. There will be some changes around here, both some that I’ve hinted at before and some new ones. Be sure to stay tuned. However, if you have suggestions for of what you would like to see covered, I’m all ears; just leave a comment below.
I will be sharing my European itinerary, travel guides, and tips from our trip but I’m coming back to MML tomorrow with a recently completed project that I’m eager to share with you all, “Dreaming Big in San Francisco – Guest bedroom Part 1 }.
I hope you enjoyed this manicured post, thanks for coming back after my month long European break.
