As a designer, I get the question, “How do you feel about IKEA?” a lot! I love Ikea, I just pick and choose what I select very cautiously, looking for functionality and of course great bang for your buck (their sheepskin throws are always a go-to). I’ve seen IKEA hacks that have blown me away, and I’ve even done myself (bookshelf here – gold spray paint and volia!)
A new line for Ikea, titled SINNERLIG, by London Designer Ilse Crawford, is a collection one might not expect from the big box store. It’s a high quality line with soft seagrass rugs, bamboo, earthenware dishes, handblown glass, and cork inspired furnishings that leave us anxiously awaiting its launch in October.
With an earthy yet refined touch, the furniture in the collection ranges from settees and tables to tableware and lighting.
A set of bamboo-lattice pendant lights ($60ea) pack and ship efficiently, a typical element in many Ikea products that help to keep prices low. I’m envisioning one of these above my bed providing texture and shadow play.
The daybed ($359), a favorite of mine, with an option of an upholstered cushion ($149 with color options available) has me swooning big time! Keep in natural and light or add pops of color with the use of a blanket or accent pillows.
Cork furnishings are available in two versions, this lighter option and a warm brown. Who doesn’t love the the mix of materials showcased underneath the table (Table: $349)?
How beautiful are these earthenware dishes? Used in the kitchen or on the coffee table, these will be sure to be a fixture in your home for years to come.

Designer Ilse Crawford’s collection has me completely giddy and I can’t wait until those sliding glass doors open at the blue and yellow building so I can go running in to grab it all!
