I’m not sure exactly what started my love affair with what I imagine the Hamptons to be like. I don’t get to the east coast often, but hopefully that will change soon. Fingers are crossed that I get to take a trip to the Hamptons for a little R&R mixed with staring at drool worthy homes in the not too distant future. This week’s home tour is probably one of my favorites and has sparked new energy in me. I’m not going to lie, it has become increasingly difficult lately to find a home tour that I feel is worthy of sharing and to set aside the time to locate pieces that you can acquire for your own home. Many feel that it’s something they’ve seen before. Not this one; this one is light and airy, as one might expect from a home in the Hamptons, but it has an edge to it while still encompassing a neutral pallet.
Many people think nautical when they hear a home is a waterfront property; this interior has touches of that, but it isn’t screaming at you with blue and white with anchors on the wall. Its minimalistic design brings warmth and visual interest into the space with textures upon textures found in the lighting {including horse hair sconces by Apparatus – one day these will belong to me, damn it} the living room chairs, the rugs underfoot, and the throw on the bed.
While I don’t have time to jet off to the Hamptons, I will be spending the rest of the day dreaming about this beauty.
