It’s no secret that white walls are huge this year. They are not considered stark or boring but rather bright and welcoming. That is exactly what this house is – a farmhouse situated in Newport Heights – a family home that is as welcoming as it is relaxing and begging to be used for entertaining. Shiplap lovers rejoice! This is a perfect example of a well-executed use of material. Warmth is brought into the home through textures that play against one another. The canopy bed in the master is the perfect piece for a room with soaring ceilings; romantic touches brought in by sheer draperies make it simple and elegant. Having worked for a few years after college in Newport, CA, I remember well the warm weather, blue skies, and of course, the beautiful homes; it’s nice to peek into one again.
