By now, your social media feed is being filled with holiday decor and cheer. So many seem to have had their Christmas trees up for over a month, and I don’t really blame them – whats not to love? I for one love the season, but I understand when others are not quite ready for the seasonal decor to fill their homes just yet. However for me, once the weather turns chilly, I want to embrace winter and bring the cozy factor into our home. Then right after Turkey Day, I plan to go full force with the tree, ornaments, and so on – who’s with me? First, though, I’m adding texture and warmth to our home, and above everything, that feeling of wanting to snuggle up and relax in my cozy home.
Here are quick ways to bring on the cozy into your home.
Switch out your blankets in your home. Opt for beyond-soft {like this one shown above – love the tassels}, faux fur, or oversized knits. I love to have them slightly spilling out of a basket or underneath accent pillows for a casual look.

Rather than getting all my decor out, I start with neutrals and build on it after Thanksgiving. I like to keep my holiday decor pretty simple, and I find myself collecting little houses to display. These hold candles inside and give off a perfect warm glow.
Bring out candles and place throughout your home; I love finding scents that remind me of Christmas.
Have a faux fireplace? You can add candles, but I love the look of birch logs in the fireplace. I’ll add white LED string lights to them just after Thanksgiving.
I love to keep the house smelling wonderful and not just with candles {think how walking into Williams Sonoma smells}. I love to have some herbs and/or mulling spices simmering on the stove when I’m home – great for when guests are coming over! image: via.
