I can’t believe we only have one week left until Christmas! I’m of course excited, but as expected, I’m a tad behind on all the things I want to accomplish when it comes to DIY projects, present purchasing, menu perfecting, etc. Growing up, my (British) parents always threw a big Boxing Day party – an open house of sorts, from 11 am – 3 pm, where guests show up at whatever time works best for them for a casual affair. It was the party I always looked forward to: people arrived dressed up, ready to drink mulled wine (that was always so strong but delish), and it was simply a great time to catch up with friends. This year, it will take place at the family lake house, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Another bonus, it’s sure to ease away those “end of Christmas blues”.
