Achieving a work life balance is something I will always have to work at; I love what I do so it’s easy to fall into the trap of all work and no real down time, especially when the work load is bursting at the seams { in a very, very good way}. Our upcoming trip will do us both good. We are both are eager for the trip but also looking forward to coming back rejuvenated and inspired. While I will be gone for 3 weeks and managing from afar, my clients are understanding and encouraging. I know I will come back feeling refreshed and inspired and hopefully with a suitcase { or a shipping container} filled with some fun treasures I’ve picked up along the way.
This work week was a busy one, but my friend and photographer, Elena Graham, and I managed to fit in a photo shoot of a completed project in Menlo Park. Photoshoots are so fun; I get to hang out with Elena who is crazy talented and fun. I also see my client’s project at their final stage, though doing this comes with a ping of sadness. Naturally, a relationship between a designer and client is a close one, but this particular project was for dream clients; we had so much fun remodeling their home. Now I just hope we can take on another design project together in the near future.
As always, here are the scenes from the week.
{ above: mid remodel at a project in Burlingame, California – hello stunning windows. }
{ Crystal clear water was discovered after a hard hike with the family – too bad the water is freezing cold! }
{ A little sneak peek into our photo shoot this week at a project in Menlo Park. }
{ From the sculpture to the yellow sofa – I could stand in this exact spot and stare all day long. }
{ The best kind of photo shoot props – great texture and the perfect shade of green. }
I hope you have a lovely, manicured weekend.
