I finally made it over to the San Francisco Decorator Showcase house about a week ago, as always the Decorator Showcase is something not to be missed. If you are like me, you will go more than once as you’re sure to want to revisit the gorgeous details. The San Francisco Decorator Showcase runs through until May 30th, so you still have time to line up with designers and other design enthusiasts to see a home filled with artwork that is not to be missed along with heavy pattern play in rooms that vary from bright colors to softer palettes. Don’t miss the mother of pearl inlaid wallpaper; be sure to look up in each room and be prepared to leave inspired, in awe.
It is hard to say what my favorite room is, but I’m sure you will have yours. Overall, whether the walls were adorned with art, wallpaper, or multiple layers of paint that had been whipped to supreme, I feel that the walls and ceilings took center stage this year – catching my eye with every turn.
Background on the San Francisco Decorator Showcase
For the past 38 years, the annual San Francisco Decorator Showcase has benefited San Francisco University High School’s financial aid program, raising over $14 million and benefiting thousands of students. Thanks to the generosity of their sponsors, the participation of hundreds of accomplished designers, the school’s trustees, parents, faculty, alumni, students, friends, and the thousands of Showcase visitors each year, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase allows San Francisco University High School to offer financial aid to its students. This year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase house overlooks the bay at 298 Chestnut Street near Coit Tower. The 2016 Showcase features twenty-five transformed rooms and outdoor spaces along with dramatic views.
I have decided not to pull the professional photographs used to market the showcase house but rather share a few of my favorite “moments” from the home. I highly encourage you to make the time to visit, if you can, before it closes to the public on May 30th.
Here are a few of my favorite moments at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2016
The home will capture your heart from the moment you walk up to it; a stunning mirror and beautifully landscaped front yard greet you at the entrance.
A Stevie Nicks inspired room – just knowing that, captured my heart.
An upstairs bedroom is complete with high gloss pink trim, strong pattern play can be found from the ceiling to the textiles.
An upstairs, hallway bar will capture your heart with brass accents, oversized pendants, and stunning wallpaper – this lacquered bar is a dream and hits many of the 2016 trends in all the right ways.
An expansive room, with stunning views of the bay will make your heart sing, but the finishes and details within the space make it memorable. As a long time fan Coup D’etat, I recognized the lighting straight away – love the drama it brings to the room.
Doses of color are introduced in big and small accents throughout.
Sink goals? I think so.
(Master Bedroom) I love the texture from the wall hanging to the drapery.
Seriously, though, what’s not to love with a bar replacing a closet?
A dreamy tabletop and gallery wall in the master bedroom.
It wasn’t just the inside that took my breath away.
These sconces and a modern take on a tapestry have me rethinking a certain area in my home. Home decor trends are still #allaboutthatbrass
Hello kitchen dreams – look at that faucet!
A custom rug and sofa will take your breath away on the lower level – you will want to curl up here, drink a martini and never leave.
Be sure to take some time out of your manicured month of May to visit this stunning home.
