I love discovering new homes to feature for you guys. I especially ones that have been given some love but have left gorgeous details of the original home, like the stain-glass window and railing seen below. Living in an Edwardian home in San Francisco that was built 100 years ago, I can often be found day dreaming about remodeling it – so many plans, trust me! Actually, as I’m writing this, I’ve got four guys working on electrical in my home; the wires were cut too short, so we need to work around old gas lines to hang a new fixture in my living room. Older homes require work, but above all, they require love and respect. This weeks’ home tour features a remodel that is bright, open, and features a fun addition of metallics and pops of blue throughout, from pillows to a small arrangement of hydrangeas on a nightstand. Recently, I had a client ask how one keeps a home with white walls feeling inviting and not stark and cold – textures and layers are key, and this home is a perfect example of it.
