Sunset magazine is a magazine I grew up with; I have memories of my mum pulling out pages of recipes, garden, and interior ideas that we couldn’t wait to try out. We loved testing out their ideas in my childhood home, which helped to grow my love of all things interior design and the west coast lifestyle. So, when Sunset Magazine invited my friend/photographer, Elena Graham, and me for a sneak peek into this weekend’s Sunset Celebration Weekend, which is held at Cornerstone in Sonoma, we jumped at the chance to head to wine country to gain some insight into the big weekend ahead. We were given a tour of the new Sunset Smart Cottage, the Sunset test gardens on the Cornerstone Sonoma property, the new Sunset home that will soon be able to rent via Airbnb, and we got to try our hand at some of the crafts that will be available to you at Camp Sunset this weekend.
More highlights to look forward to at the Sunset Celebration Weekend
Cocktail garden + wine and spirit seminars
Plenty of cooking, gardening, and interior demos
Food, wine, and live music.
A sneak peek into Sunset Celebration Weekend at Cornerstone Sonoma – this weekend, May 20th – 21st, 2017
{ We started with a tour of the Sunset Smart Cottage, utilizing the latest connected smart devices – some of my favorites were the Samsung smart appliances, including ones that have yet to be released. I can’t wait to include these in designs for my clients’ homes as well as my own. }
{Demonstrating the Samsung fridge that I now HAVE TO HAVE. You can tag food with notes, see what you need, and more – all from your smartphone using their app.}
{ The Sunset Smart Cottage received a complete update in tech but also featured beautiful furnishings by Decorist. }
{ A beautiful wall hanging by Meghan Bogden Shimek makes this friendly room a cozy one with a murphy bed and cabinetry by California Closets; it also features smart technology in the nearby Snoo smart sleeper for your little one, by Happiest Baby. }
{ The master bedroom was a dream; the headboard wall features beautiful wallpaper by Hygge & West, sconces from Lampsplus, and the stunning lumbar pillow can be purchased from a favorite shop of mine which is on the Cornerstone Sonoma property, Nomad Chic {stay tuned as I will be featuring a little interview with the owner, Linda Hamilton, and a peek into this beautiful boutique to kick off a new series here on MyManicuredLife.com. }
{ A beautiful moment on the antique dresser in the master bedroom – decor by Decorist. }
{ Walking into the Sunset test gardens at Cornerstone, Sonoma. }
{ You can’t help but stop and smell everything in the beautiful gardens on the property. }
{ Potted plants in a picturesque setting. }
{ After some time in the sun, we headed to the Wolf & Horseshoe house in Sonoma; this won’t be part of the Celebration Weekend, but you will be able to rent it via Airbnb. This is the perfect spot to host family and friends; completely private with a beautiful pool and plenty of entertaining space. }
{ We were treated to delicious lunch by Masullo Pizza {they made us the most amazing sandwiches and salads – can’t wait to check out their restaurant} followed by a look into Camp Sunset, which is filled with tips and craft making projects. }
{If you love crafting as much as I do, you are in luck as there will be so much to do in the way of crafts at Celebration Weekend! Neve & Hawk will lead screen printing, Juniper Ridge {as shown above} will be making sage bundles, and of course, there will be a whole host of local artists at the event. }
