While being in the heart of San Francisco is wonderful, driving over the Golden Gate Bridge provides a quick getaway to hike along the coastline, among soaring redwoods with stunning views. We took advantage of a dog-friendly trail in Mill Valley, lasting about 2 hours round trip among gorgeous wildflowers.
Monday morning one of my to-do items was an easy one – bringing fresh flowers into my home for the week. They truly are the best accessory with texture, color, height and even drama brought to us by Mother Nature.
There is a new project for Julia Goodwin Design starting this month in Menlo Park, California. A full renovation of a three bedroom, two bathroom family home, and every single inch is getting touched. As we finalize tile options, I’m giddy with excitement; this client isn’t afraid to have some fun!
I stopped in one of my favorite places, Coup D’etat, to shop and gain inspiration. I can’t wait to present some of their furnishings to a couple of my clients.
Living in San Francisco and having a backyard is rare, so we consider ourselves extremely lucky! We spend a lot of time out there, but it’s the mornings that I enjoy it most. Earth Day is today, and while I’ve got a full schedule of back to back meetings, it is here that I find inspiration and a place to relax before the hectic work day begins. The blooming flowers, our large lemon tree, and the sweet smells all provide inspiration that I bring to my interiors. This morning I’ve planted two new plants to add texture, color, and height to our guest room. Bringing the outside in is just one way to celebrate Earth Day.
